Jennifer Allen-Malinowski is chef/owner of the Wholly Bowl in Lakeport, California. After completing her culinary training at Mendocino College, Jenn saw a need for healthy food options at lunch-time in her community. Jenn created a tiny menu for a tiny restaurant, on an even tinier budget. November 2014, the Wholly Bowl opened its doors and has continued to successfully operate, ever since.
As a sole-proprietor, single mom, Jenn has turned the Wholly Bowl into a thriving family business. While fully immersed in her work to promote healthy food options, Jenn envisions a Wholly Bowl next door to every McDonald’s on the planet. Wholly Bowl was nominated for Small Business of the Year in 2015 and 2018, and continues to be a local favorite. Wholly Bowl’s mobile pop-up food stand Bowls & Rolls is set to launch Spring/Summer 2023 and will cater to outdoor festivals, live music events, and farmers markets. Jenn recently began teaching vegetarian/seasonal cuisine at Mendocino College, in the fall of 2022. When not cooking at her restaurant or teaching at the local college, she can be found at home writing her first cookbook, or exploring new places in her travel trailer.
