- Provide leadership, educational opportunities and philanthropic events for the community at large
Testimonials
“I first learned of the Les Dames d’Escoffier organization when I was living in Atlanta in the mid-1990s. A food journalist friend was a member and I was wildly envious. I was toiling away as a business attorney, and when she invited me as a guest to their events, I was always in awe of the culinary luminaries there, including my longtime then favorite chef, Anne Quatrano, and the uniquely interesting and fun programs the group offered.
Little did I know that years later, through my work as leader of the Slow Food Chapter in Marin County (CA), and then as the founder/publisher/editor in chief of Edible Marin & Wine Country, I would have “earned” my place among these esteemed ladies of the culinary world. I was so honored to be invited to be a founding member of the Sonoma Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier, and am looking forward to being a part of the important work my fellow members and I are planning to do in our region, from mentoring up and coming women in the culinary field, to supporting school gardens, and more. Women supporting women, and having a delicious time doing it! “

“I could not be more proud to be a part of this incredible organization. I am just getting started as one of the newest members, but I am already blown about by the support and community outreach of this organization. Women truly supporting women at the highest level and having a real impact in our community.”

Women who support the LDEI Mission, Vision, and Basic Values
Women who meet the ethical standards in the LDEI Code of Ethics and have no undisclosed conflict of interest
Dual Members and Transfers:
We are excited to welcome Dames transferring from or interested in dual membership with another chapter.
As a new chapter (established in 2020), we are eager to have Dames who will actively contribute to our evolution and growth. Please review the LDESC member criteria as outlined above.
For Transferring Dames, annual dues of $225 are to be paid by August 1st. We ask for full payment of dues when joining the chapter any time of the year other than June or July; dues will not be prorated.
For Dual Dames, annual dues of $125 are to be paid by August 1. This amount is paid to LDESC separate from your primary chapter dues. As with transferring Dames, we ask for full payment of dues when joining the chapter any time of the year other than June or July; dues will not be prorated.
We ask that all new chapter members attend a Zoom onboarding session the evening of June 23, 2025.
The first step in this transfer/dual Dame process is for you to complete this Transfer and Dual Membership Information form to help us get to know you and to ensure you are familiar with the requirements for membership in the Sonoma Chapter.
Please email the form along with a letter of reference from your current chapter, a short bio, and a ‘head shot’ photo for use in our chapter directory to membership@lesdamessoco.org.
The LDESC membership process is our way of getting to know you and your intentions as a chapter member.
To Be Considered For Membership:
● Complete and sign the LDESC Membership Application
● Review the LDEI Conflict of Interest Policy and complete the statement that is part of the Membership Application
● Provide a current résumé
● Provide a letter of reference from a member of Les Dames (current or retired from any chapter)
Please email all items to membership@lesdamessoco.org by 5pm on April 30, 2025.
We will contact you once your application is received and again in May to schedule an informal interview with a member of our chapter’s Membership Committee. Final approval will happen at the Chapter Board Meeting in early June and you will be notified soon thereafter.
Please note that new members are asked to attend a Zoom onboarding meeting on Monday evening June 23. New members are also strongly encouraged to attend an induction ceremony at the chapter’s quarterly all-member meeting on Wednesday July 16th at 5:30pm.
